Welcome to the presentation by guest artist Samuel Brzeski (UK/NO), whose practice deals with the post-digital swirl of language. He is a Bergen-based artist and is in residence at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) until the end of April.

Between 1-24 April he will have a solo exhibition titled ‘Performance Anxiety’ at Babel Visningsrom, which investigates practices of speed reading and subvocalisation. The exhibition is part of Meta.Morf, Trondheim International biennale for art and technology. __ Samuel Brzeski, originally from London, is currently based in Bergen, Norway. He studied English Literature at the University of Sheffield, Fine Art at The Bergen Art Academy and participated in the Mountain School of Arts, Los Angeles. Recent and ongoing projects include exhibitions, performances and publications with Lydgalleriet (Bergen), Østre (Bergen), Studio 17 (Stavanger), bb15 (Linz), Inversia Festival (Murmansk), KRAFT (Bergen), Galleri Box (Gothenburg), and Chao Art Centre (Beijing).

Five-year contract with possibility for renewal. Artists at Gregus Kunstnerverksteder pay a deposit of NOK 1,000 when moving into the studio community. Upon leaving the community, the artist gets the deposit refunded, deducted any unpaid bills to the community.
Gregus Kunstnerverksteder is a studio community for visual artists. The community is organized in the Brønnøysund register as a tenant association. The studio community has 12 studios on the 2nd and 3rd floor in Gregus Gate 7.Gregus Kunstnerverksteder is currently without a lift and the stairs are narrow. The studio can therefore not be used for the production of larger works than what can be carried up and down through the stairwells.

Welcome to the presentation by writer and performance-maker Yasen Vasilev, who is in residence at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) until the end of March; and by visual artist Per Stian Monsås, who is a tenant at LKV since November 2020.
Yasen Vasilev (1988, Bulgaria) is educated at the theatre academies of Sofia and Shanghai, and works internationally in the field of contemporary dance and performance as a maker, dramaturg and critic. He is a regular contributor for Springback magazine, collaborator of Belgian choreographer Ehsan Hemat and co-founder of Radar Sofia, a residency for playwrights, dramaturgs and artists at risk. During his residency at LKV, Vasilev will work in collaboration with DansiT with a group of local dancers on a Norwegian version of his performance “Impossible actions”. The piece will be presented in Rosendal teater on Feb 11-12th. For the second half of the residency he will be joined by choreographer Ehsan Hemat (Iran/Belgium) to research together Hemat’s new solo “everything brings us back to the body”
Per Stian Monsås (1990, Norway) draws his inspiration from the surrounding environment and experiences connected to everyday life. In the mundane, he tries to find those hidden gems take makes life interesting and highlights them through abstraction. Within his material and spatial practice, this abstraction can present itself as a wide variety of expressions. His work aims to cultivate experiences that can connect, and shared between, the viewer/participant and the work.Monsås graduated with a MFA from Trondheim Academy of Fine Art. His work has been commissioned for Hurtigruten (2018) and REV Ocean (2020). He was bestowed the Debutant Award at the 45th Trøndelags Exhibition in 2021. Monsås lives and works in Trondheim.

Artisans and visual artists are invited to apply for a studio place at Tempe Health and Welfare Center. The center is connected to nursing homes and care homes, but also serves as a gathering place and cultural center for the district.
The studio is built for the purpose, with mezzanine and otherwise great height under the roof. The floor area is 39 m2. It is good daylight from the north. The center has a party hall that can be used for collaborative projects, meeting places or for exhibitions.
The studio will be announced from 1 February 2022 for a period of two years. The artist does not pay rent, but is committed to making his work available to the residents of the Tempe Health and Welfare Center. This can happen through different types of collaboration and involvement, such as open studios, exhibitions, conversations or other types of collaborative projects. Collaboration with the Culture Unit, Senior Culture is also an opportunity.
Artists who work on projects that are well suited for collaboration with, or dissemination to, the health and welfare center will be given priority.

Are you having trouble with finding the right words when you are applying for working grants? Which works do you show? Should you be writing in art-speak? And what is “artistic plans”?
In this workshop we will run through some basic tips on how to write the big working grant application. How to prepare the application, how to navigate within the forms, how to organise the visual material, and how to describe your artistic work in a way that increases the chance of success. We will have time for questions and discussions, and are aiming for a relevant workshop fitting for both beginners and experienced artists.
Erik Friis Reitan is a visual artist and PHD fellow at the Art Academy in Bergen. He recently showed the exhibition Teleportation #3 at KODE4, and has received several grants and been a part of different juries and committees. Erik likes to share his experiences, and have held several workshops on application writing and exhibition documentation the last few years.
The workshop is a collaboration betweent VISP and Lademoen kunstnerverksteder, and is supported by Trondheim kommune.
